So far nine Tasmanian communities across the state have been busy participating in the Communities for Walkability project. Many town reports have been released and it has been great to see many communities utilising these to support advocacy efforts. Recently, one of the Railton Community Champion’s presented a project summary at the biannual Railton Community Information Evening. In addition, project Chief Investigator, Verity Cleland, presented the findings of the Greater Snug report to over 40 community members who are keen to see improvements in pedestrian safety throughout Snug, Lower Snug and Coningham.
As the data collection phase winds up, the Menzies team will now be working on some advocacy resources to further support communities to push for these important changes. Keep an eye out on the website!
